Earthquakes are as old as the formation of the Earth. Many landforms, mountains, plains, valleys, islands, Peninsulas and seas are formed by earthquakes.

It is necessary to accept that the world is a living being. In order to maintain its vitality and to give life to the living things on it, there must be movements of the Earth. Therefore, an earthquake is not actually a natural disaster, it is the need of living things on earth. Just as sports are beneficial to human health, the motion of the Earth, its tremors and the movement of the Earth’s masses also provide health to the world.

Earthquakes constitute fault lines. As moving Earth masses change position relative to each other and create earthquakes, underground riches move towards the Earth. These riches are vital to humanity. Geothermal heat sources are the most important energy the underground offers to human beings. Earth moving tectonism, formed by heat and masses in the Underground, also provides formation of mineral resources and energy sources.

Man has always been afraid of earthquakes. Because it destroyed many civilizations and structures built by mankind and caused the deaths of many people collectively at the same time. The world can’t be blamed for that, of course. The damage that an earthquake does to buildings and people is the evil that man does to himself. Unless the buildings are built intact, the earthquake will always harm humanity.

To protect our structure from earthquakes, we must choose quality building materials. The static project should be complete and detailed. The soil survey, soil survey, geological, geophysical and geotechnical studies necessary for the static project, calculation and drawing of the structure should be done meticulously.
